Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction review friv game - What to do in quarantine

Experts at the REACT Research Center are predicting a spike in the activity of a parasitic life form codenamed "Chimera" in the coming days. In order to ensure safety, we strongly recommend that citizens study the general information about the ecosystem of the parasite in a full review.

The release of Rainbow Six Extraction will take place on consoles and PC tomorrow, and for many players, as can be seen from the general mood, the game Friv2Online Games Studio site promises to be a pleasant surprise. We finally managed to play the new Ubisoft Montreal project no longer through the Connect streaming system. As expected, the optimization and graphical capabilities of Rainbow Six Extraction roughly correspond to Rainbow Six: Siege, with the only difference being that the novelty will require a little more performance from the system for stable operation.

With all the similarities ( physics, destructible environments, gunplay), Rainbow Six Extraction looks more modern, clearer and brighter than its predecessor. Textures and reflective surfaces are better done, color accents are placed differently, and the friv game feels completely different: it is still a tactical shooter, but already PVE-oriented, with new conditions and tasks.

Contrary to popular belief, Rainbow Six Extraction is no longer perceived as "an extremely niche product for fans", and no longer as a "seasonal mode for Siege". It's a standalone friv game with a curious sci-fi twist in a familiar universe and decent (to start off) content that's basically on par with most modern co-op shooters (we have so many of them these days, don't we?).

The only thing that still haunts me is the endgame content. Ubisoft Montreal has come up with weekly challenges and an extremely difficult activity for the most experienced fighters, and it is quite possible that as the conditions change, the rewards will also change weekly. And this is very important, because, if you do not take into account the progression, there is no other way to get the desired customization for operatives except by donating in the store, in Rainbow Six Extraction. Okay, let's talk about everything in order.

In March 2018, a Russian Soyuz capsule crashed in New Mexico, and shortly thereafter, an unknown and extremely deadly epidemic broke out in the town with the strange name Truth or Consequences (Truth or Consequences). The Outbreak Protocol turned into a month-long PVE mode for Rainbow Six: Siege regulars, during which the operatives had to eliminate a new threat.

The event brought sets of themed cosmetics to the friv game, for the first time "made friends" of specialists from different camps, introduced players to the basic types of archaea, and at the same time laid the foundation for the birth of the Rainbow Exogenous Analysis and Containment Team (hereinafter referred to as REACT) - an organization whose task is to contain, analyze and the study of such phenomena.

After a few years, another, much more grandiose outbreak of the Chimera occurred. The parasite brought catastrophic destruction, simultaneously attacking New York, San Francisco and the town of Nome, located in southern Alaska, and within a couple of hours, REACT teams were deployed to the places of infection.

As you can see, scientists have not advanced too far in understanding the Chimera, but they have learned to quickly respond and localize an aggressive life form. REACT is still determined to kill three monsters with one shot: to thoroughly study the parasite in its active phase, use the information obtained for scientific purposes and try to save humanity. Well, the players in this all of them will actively indulge.

18 elite Rainbow specialists were selected to participate in REACT, most suitable for invading the so-called "Containment Zones". Half of them are available to players immediately, the second half will open upon reaching a certain stage in the overall progress, which I will discuss below.

As in Rainbow Six: Siege, each of the operators has their own set of primary and secondary weapons, but their arsenal is somewhat expanded. The same Yumiko Imagawa (call sign "Hibana"), in addition to the Type-89 rifle and the Supernova shotgun, received the MP5SD PP, and the Rook, in addition to the MP5, P90 and SG-CQB, was strengthened by the HK417 semi-automatic and the V308 rifle.

The guns have one or more interchangeable modules that affect combat performance and usability, as well as sets of "skins" and trinkets for customization. Operatives can also change their headgear and uniforms in the REACT equipment section. There are already quite a few skins, of course, there will be new ones.

Rainbow Six Extraction characters have inherited their own unique abilities, but some of them now work a little differently. The armor plates of the same "Rook" do not just reduce damage, but protect the operative from losing consciousness (here this means the fighter is out of order for the current and several subsequent operations), "Sledge" can stun the monster with a sledgehammer, and the "Pulse" sensor detects VIP- s, captured by the parasite fighters and nests, and only scans the noticed enemies.

The main progression system is connected with the development system of the fighters themselves. In the friv game, this is called the contribution of a specialist to the progress of REACT. The experience earned during raids allows operators to reach the tenth rank, and at each of the ranks - to get an upgrade of the main ability, a new passive property, unlock additional weapons and improve characteristics (speed or defense).

If during the previous two sessions it seemed to me that some operatives are significantly more effective than others, then delving into the game, I had to admit that, after all, a lot depends on the team and the list of tasks that the fighters have to perform during the raid. While I didn't find any significant complaints about the skills of the operatives, all seem to be quite viable in certain scenarios.

The parasite produces a mold-like biological substance that spreads rapidly and can harden into an extremely durable structure that REACT dubbed the "Shell". The scientists speculate that the Slime protects the Chimera's ecosystem and creates an environment for growing Nests, organic cocoons that can actively produce archaea when threatened.

REACT grouped the archaea into four danger tiers, with several species in each. Six more specimens have been added to the Demoman, Ram, Aphid and Thorn already seen in the event, as well as the Protheans, a particularly dangerous subspecies of archaea that imitate Rainbow fighters by mixing the properties of a parasite with the skills of operatives.

Three Protheans are currently known: a duplicate of the Smoke operative, using poisonous gas and an imitation shotgun; duplicate operative "Alibi", creating an infinite number of clones of himself; and armed with a hammer, a particularly durable duplicate of the Sledge operative.

Raids in Rainbow Six Extraction are categorized by several levels of difficulty, which increase the chance of encountering higher-tier enemies as they increase, as well as encountering a random parasite mutation - a level modifier that will further complicate the life of operatives.

The mutation can make all Slime toxic, protect the Nests with armor, cover Archaea with spores that attach to Rainbow fighters and blind them for a long time, cover the map with thick fog. At the start, there will be seven possible modifiers, and more will probably be introduced later.

I’ll add the following from myself: sometimes archaea are dumb and hesitate too long before an attack, and sometimes they try to be cunning - break walls and floors, attack from unexpected sides. All, even the weakest individuals, are extremely deadly and deplete the health bar with lightning speed if they get to the operative.

Noticing the enemy, archaea inform the nearest organisms about the threat. Nests begin to actively produce new soldiers and spread slime, all the monsters flock to the place where the player was last seen and prowl in search of him. Difficulty does not affect Archaean damage, but only determines their numbers and types.

In addition, an Operator who is wounded in combat cannot heal from wounds during a raid. First-aid kits and healing skills of specialists provide only a temporary increase in health. Upon returning to the base, the wounded soldier is sent for treatment, which means he is out of the game for a certain number of operations (as in X-COM).

Collectively, we get stealth as the most desirable play style. By working stealthily, fighters are able to eliminate nests before they are activated and eliminate Archaea before they can injure them. Some missions, however, will still force players to work quickly and aggressively, but more on that in the next section.

Here carefully: at the start we have four locations (New York, Alaska, San Francisco and the long-suffering Truth or Consequences); in each location there are three infected objects (maps); each map is divided by isolation rooms into three sectors (levels) with evacuation zones.

Having united in a group, the operatives set out to raid some object in order to complete one, two or three tasks - one task for each level of the map. You can proceed to the evacuation area at any of the three stages, even if you have not done anything yet. For example, to save your operative and pull out an unconscious comrade if everything went badly.

The reward will be higher the further your squad can advance (but the difficulty will increase with each sector). The ideal outcome can be considered the passage of all three levels without a single injury and mostly stealth, since the friv game encourages the secretive killing of Chimera organisms with bonus experience points.
